Emtrain founder & CEO Janine Yancey is a pioneer and visionary in healthy workplace culture, including online education in harassment, ethics and diversity+inclusion. A former partner with an employment law firm whose clients included Google and Intuit, she founded Emtrain in 2006. The boot-strapped startup began by delivering engaging online sexual harassment and workplace compliance training and recently evolved into an AI platform that provides powerful data and analytics to identify toxic workplace issues in real-time. Emtrain, which earned an “Honorable Mention” spot on Fast Company’s World Changing Ideas 2020 list and recognized in Inc. 5000’s Regional List 2021 for Fastest Growing Private Companies in California, has worked with more than 800 companies including some of the biggest names in tech and corporate America, from Medallia, Dolby, and LiveNation to Chevron.
Janine is a sought-after speaker and has been published and interviewed in the mainstream media including The Washington Post, Fast Company, USA Today, Bloomberg Business, TechCrunch, and CNN. She’s presented at Society of Ethics and Compliance; Techstars FounderCon; Founders Network, and Startup Grind. Prior to founding Emtrain, Janine was a partner at Employment Law Partners where she specialized in solving labor and employment problems for high tech firms. Janine also served as Board Member of the Northern California Human Resources Association, and author of The HR Handbook, designed to help young tech companies navigate workplace laws.
