Talent Acquisition: Engaging Your Talent Community Intelligently
A well-maintained talent community means better access to the right passive candidates that you need as competition increases for top talent. Organizations that have established strong talent communities have grown their talent pipeline, improved their company brand awareness and enhanced their quality of hires.
To make a talent community work, you have to be savvy at gathering intelligence and maintaining strong relationships. Developing a community is not enough, you need to grow and gather intelligence on that community. Effective Talent Communities have three phases – BUILD, CULTIVATE AND MAINTAIN.
Phase I - BUILD AWARENESS
• Demonstrate who you are and what you do that adds value
• Illustrate why they should work for you, Employer Value Proposition
• Convince talent to sign up
Phase II - CULTIVATE
• Personalize your message
• Provide engaging content such as gamification and webinars
• Use Push and Pull Marketing strategies
• Introduce them to key players
Phase III - MAINTAIN
• Promote your key jobs
• Advertise your career events
• Offer opportunities to network
• Create an ongoing dialogue
• Develop a sustainable process
Creating a talent pipeline is easy, cheap and fast. But creating an engaged, effective and sustainable talent community requires 6 key ingredients. I hope you attend my keynote presentation at the upcoming HCI Strategic Talent Acquisition Conference in which I will cover these six ingredients in detail.
If you want to develop an effective CRM – Candidate Relationship Management – to help manage these communities of talent, I encourage you to explore the CRM Implementation Solution Suite I developed in collaboration with HCI, which is exclusively available to HCI Corporate Members.
