The State of Contingent Workforce Management
The world of talent management is sharply-evolving, with the non-traditional workforce taking shape as a viable means of supporting corporate programs and driving organizational objectives. Ardent Partners predicts that the utilization of contingent labor will grow by 30% over the next three years, a figure that reflects the criticality of freelance workers, independent contractors and SOW-based projects and services.
While contemporary contingent workforce management involves expertise from a wide variety of stakeholders (including procurement), the evolutionary nature of this industry now necessitates that human capital management principles be applied to this arena for maximum effectiveness. Today’s contingent workforce market places more value on “talent” than “cost,” and the blend of functions involved in managing the modern-day non-traditional workforce must ensure that there is a balance between quality control and spend management.
The concept of “total talent management,” which entails the centralized management of both traditional and non-traditional labor under a single problem leveraging CWM and human capital technologies, is also an area of focus within the contingent workforce industry…and one in which the human capital world will play a vital role.
Ardent is set to launch the second annual edition of its State of Contingent Workforce Management research study and seeks participation from the human capital community to shape this new report. I encourage you to spend less than 15 minutes to partake in our online survey (available here) and help lend your unique insights to this groundbreaking new research study.
All participants will receive a complimentary edition of the State of Contingent Workforce Management report upon publication in early October, and all responses will remain anonymous. I thank you in advance for your time and for your participation.
