1:35pm-2:10pm EDT Building Adapting to Change into People Leadership
During the Great Resignation and this time of massive disruption, it’s more important than ever for leaders to have the skills to engage their team members and help them embrace change. So often when attempting to drive change, leaders face resistance, which they struggle to overcome. What if there was a new way – an alternative to the stress and frustration – experienced both by leaders as well as employees? The traditional framing of resistance springs from a fixed mindset: resistance is bad, a sign that I am a leader who is doing something wrong, which must be prevented or eradicated., which must be prevented or eradicated. Adopting a growth mindset transforms our attitude towards resistance: resistance is normal and natural, a powerful source of information a leader can leverage.
In this session, you will learn:
- What neuroscience teaches us about the brain on change, and how to use this information to reframe resistance from enemy to ally
- Actionable tactics you can use as an HR professional to foster psychological safety and develop leaders-at-all-levels to become more adaptable to change themselves
- Specific ways you can facilitate powerful conversations that engage the heart, enlighten the head, and equip the hands of the leaders you serve, so that they can in turn coach their people to “get it,” “want it,” and be able to “do it” – that is, embrace change in these challenging times, and beyond
