Kate James is a New York based comedy writer and improviser. She’s written, performed and taught for various divisions of The Second City for the past 10 years. She is a founding member of the sketch comedy group Schadenfreude, who enjoyed a two-year stint on Chicago Public Radio, performs with the all female improv group Virgin Daiquiri at iO Chicago, and created a viral video where she plays a very drunk Cubs fan. Kate travels the world teaching improvisation and communication skills for Second City Works – a division of the famed comedy theatre. She has appeared on the TV shows Easy (Netflix), Playing House (USA), and Shameless (Showtime). Kate is a regular comedy contributor to the Slate podcast Trumpcast and plays Tricia on the cult-hit podcast Hello From The Magic Tavern.
