Best Practices in Candidate Experience: Aligning Expectations
Author
Jim Delgaldo, Business Systems Analyst, iCIMS
In order to produce a candidate experience integrated with your up-front brand messaging, it’s imperative that you align what you provide with what the candidate expects from you. Jim Delgaldo of iCIMS shares best practices, while John Blowers of WilsonHCG explains how to eliminate the disconnect between candidate and employer expectations.
- Optimize your online application design for mobile and tablet, not just desktop.
- Allow sign-in via LinkedIn, Facebook, and/or Google accounts to speed up the application process.
- Keep the time it takes to complete your application under 20 minutes and/or its length to 15 questions or fewer.
- Follow up with a phone call in order to meet candidate expectations for a personal touch.
- Provide an agenda for the interview, not solely date/time/location.
